Happy New Year!!
It was HOT, HOT, HOT. We are talking 90 and up. Since it is winter - the humidity wasn't an issue. Here is a bunch of some kind of birds that were actually marching in two's down the sidewalk (I couldn't move fast enough to get a picture of that) - I think they've been watching to many soldiers LOL!

And there are roosters all over the place. here is the one I listened to all night for the first 2 nights (I think he is the same one) but then I saw 2 more from bedroom window. This was taken right about daylight. The neighbor across the street was trying to catch him - I guess to relocate him. This rooster sure dosen't know how to tell time!! They are all over the place~~ I asked Keith if they are like a sacred cow and his answer was "more like sacred roosters" LOL They are all over the downtown area, in churchyards, walking down sidewalks. Everyone just kind of ignores them!
Keith just liked this sign - it was how we felt at the end of 2nd day.

Animals displayed right on Duval Street.
I think this is the same kind of snake that S'te had in her front yard -
and the Parrots dance to the sound of change clinking in the
"Tips for Treats" can!
Leon being a reindeer with a twig that he found during one of his many time outs. The guys in the background were from a Russian Soccor Team and did some awesome stunts for the kids
- of course -
I didn't have my camera out for the best of them!!
We took a side trip to Naval Air Station Key West
and Keith got to look at several of the planes that he has
worked on over his years in the service.
And then back to the beach. For the third day in a row.
They never tired of it.
Keith finally bought me a sand umbrella
I caught a cold, I was hot,
the kids had a blast!!
It was a great trip for the kids. I learned things about them I would never had known if it hadn't happened.
They have learned no boundaries,
the word no loses something between
the n and the o,
they go to sleep early,
they love the water,
they learned to say Key West
they endured the ride back which
took about 7 hours due to traffic and accidents,
Leon will never be potty trained,
the limit is where to push to,
I don't care if it is a $9 casa dia on
Duval Street in Key West,
they aren't going to eat it!
My computer was running away with my frustration over not being able to look away for a single second. It took over the keyboard there for a minute. . .
I hope we can go back. There seems to be a festive air to most of the people and places there - I couldn't quite catch it - but I'm sure if we go back - as grown ups (without children) - I will. I just bet it would be really great to do the paddle boat things, or the kayaks, or the skidoo's, or even stay out after dark!!
And I know the formatting on this is all fouled up but I don't know how to fix it without losing my pictures - so - this is how it is staying!!

Christmas 2007
We said prayers and read the Birth of Jesus to the boys before they tore into thier loot~~ As usual, there was much donated stuff that just was not appropriate for what they can do - so that was sorted thru and "put up for later" lol. I will send it on with them as time comes for them to go.
I got a very exciting gift~~~ I got to watch the kids (grandkids) open their gift from us - via WEBCAM!! They were so excited - and so was I!!! I've gotten to see how big CB is and how grown-up Tetee has become.
It's been hard to get into the Christmas Spirit - our cool weather arrived just before and it cooled off clear down to 66. Today it is in the 80's. Hope all the "good" weather doesn't wear itself out before our guests arrive in February!!! I am really excited and am wishing our days away until time. . .

Christmas Eve 2007

Here is Papa helping with the last minute wrapping. . .
And here he is playing a video game with the boys so I could get dinner done in time to go to the service. . . .
So to all who read - and to those I love - Merry Christmas

My Baby Brother
Here is what is happening with him now. I'm not judging him. I am not condoning the reason he is where he is. I'm not condoning or judging anything about his life. Good or Bad. I am sad.

This week has had a couple of pretty big events also.

- oh man - it was terrible!! One of my
neighbors was walking right along the fence when the pickup came towards her "with things flying all over" - she ran - yelling call 911 - I'd heard the terrible noise so I headed out my front
door dialing at the same time. I didn't even get off of my porch before I could see it was a bad, bad wreck!! This is a testamony against riding anyone (or any pet) in the back of a pickup - as well as the miracle of God - even after being thrown from the vehicle - 3 were airlifted and 4 went in ambulances - no one died (yet - as far as I've heard). And I finally got my CPAP machine. The Dr. prescribed it last January. The world might work extremely slowly but sometimes it comes around . . . LOL. . . Anyhow, I've used it for 5 nights now - can't say I see a big difference - except the level of my headaches seem to be lighter - on second thougt - that is a big difference. I am still waking up and taking it off a couple of times a night - then wake myself up snoring and putting it back on. . . . oh, whatever. . . .
We may try to go to a Christmas program this afternoon. Depends on how many accidents my little one has between now and then. . . .

Lumber River - and a thought on Christ
Faith hosted Lumber River Quartet on Friday night!! It was totally awesome. Sometimes I get to wondering about odd wierd nonsensical little things during a quiet time ~~"Stand Up" now. Get the word out there - One thing that has not changed in the entire history of our great country is that we are still

The best picture ever!!

Other than the fact that I'm eating a sausage - this has to be one of the best pictures taken of me in ~~ oh say ~~ about 30 years!! My friend Lucy posted this on her picture site - and I copied it. You can see the back of our house, the camilla bush, the Magnolia tree, and of course, me!!
Our Thanksgiving weekend was pretty uneventful. It was all about getting our new visitors settled in and some sort of routine. So we had several days to get to know each other. It was a nice weekend. We all enjoyed Thanksgiving Eve at Church and the boys had a great time Sunday morning also. Got to talk to my Sister and Daughter - in real voice - not just IM's. That's a real treat anymore!! And even talked to my Dad for a few minutes. So it was a good weekend for me.
I've found a new Massage Therapist. . He is really agressive - and I like that. None of that messing around for him. He finds a sore spot and follows it until the knot is gone. My muscles are pretty generally tired once he is finished but - I know it is going to feel soooo good once the tiredness is gone !!
New pople still coming back to the Village for winter - so we are still renewing our winter acquaintences. Forgot about Bunco again last night. . . I remember about 9 or so - and of course - it's all done and over with by then.
I was sorry to hear that Sharen's father-in-law passed away in his sleep over the weekend - and that was his wish. I'm glad he didn't have to go anywhere he didn't care to go nor did he have to do anything he didn't want to do. Not trying to minimize the passing of a parent or any loved one - but that is how I want to go. . . just go to sleep on earth and wake up in heaven. I couldn't ask for anything more~~~

What can I find to be Thankful for?
The Blessing of a Family Gathering?
A massive amount of time with Children, Grandchildren,
Mom and Sister?
The blessing of a new-to-ushome in Oregon?
My child and her family's safety during the California fires?
To have so much that I can share with others not so fortunate?
I re-established contact with my brother?
To be able to share my home with others?
To have been able to spend a wonderful weekend at my Sister's with Mom Judy and her family?

Back in Florida
Our wonderful neighbors had turned the fridge on and put a charger on the minivan - so we had something that ran!! My time since Wednesday has been busy with trying to unpack, clean the mold and dust from the cars, golf cart (that isn't even close to done!) and putting out sticky traps for the mice that I haven't seen - but found lots of evidence of.
Keith has been busy trying to get the RV in shape for the friends that are borrowing it next week. The generator quit, one of the back tires was flat. . . and the spring that hold one of the front jacks is broken. All is in the works to have it ready to go by Tuesday. I did a big ooooooppppppsssss when I cut a corner to close and scratched the side...... I was terribly unhappy about it but my wonderful Keith said. . . . "accidents happen". He too thought I'd swung out far enough but. . . . I guess that's what happens when I start thinking. . .. .
We have weekend guests and they will be attending the Southern Gospel Concert at Faith with us this evening. They are really sweet children. . . can't wait to go to a RESTAURANT and to go hear music..
It's been fun reconnecting with others that are just returning and hearing what the summer has brought them. In several cases it hasn't been really good news - makes me realize how wonderfully blessed we really are.
Well - it's off we go!
