Cozumel, Mexico

Believe it or not - I got up early enough 3 days in a row to go "work out". My version of it anyhow :-)

Here we are getting off of the ship at Cozumel. We were lucky that it actually had a pier to tie to so we didn't have to "tender" to shore :) The Glory is on the right side. We headed in our different directions to our respective "Excursions". Sharen and Jack went diving - I snuck a picture of them paying close attention to thier guide. It started out a rather grey day - but quickly cleared - and heated up.
Keith and I headed for our sightseeing tour. We skirted the southern portion of the island and our first visit was to see the Mayan ruins at El Cedral. According to David (pronounced da- vede) - there is a massage party that goes on here for the first whole week of May. It is quite a ways from the port - we enjoyed the visit, history, and Da-vede's stories as we rode.
After the ruins we rode on around the end of the island and then up the east side of the island. Da-vede explained that if we fell in the ocean and managed to get to land (going east) and not get eaten by sharks or anything else along the way - we'd land on the coast of Africa - that's how close to the equator we were!!We then went on to the Tequila factory where a very nice - red eyed - man showed us the history of the agave pina that is used, as well as all the different methods used to make all the different kinds of tequila!! They even gave us sample shots!! I tried the orange and the lemon - but I'm not much of a tequila sort of person - Chuckie~ you and Janet would've been in heaven!!!

So then we cut across the middle of the island - there are many more Mayan ruins on the northern part - but the Federales protect that and no one is allowed to go there.

So we got back to the Port, had some lunch, did some window shopping, watched the Bay, and headed back to the ship - to get ready for yet another really decadent dinner and to compare day's happenings with Sharen and Jack.

After dinner we went to the most halarious comedy show I've ever seen - live that is - it was along the lines of "Cable Guy" - it was GREAT!!!!

And after another full day and lots of entertainment - it was off to bed!!
